About this cause
In the village of Islamkot Taluka, 80 families have no clean water source within 6 kilometres. Women and girls make the trip twice daily, losing over 4 hours to water collection. This prevents girls from attending school and exposes the entire community to waterborne disease. Our implementing partner, Pakistan Water Foundation, has surveyed the site and confirmed that a solar-powered borehole well with a hand-pump backup, distribution pipes, and a storage tank can serve all 80 families for a one-time cost of PKR 280,000. The well will be community-managed with a trained operator from the village. Clean water, permanently.
