About this cause
Fatima Bibi has been the backbone of her family for decades — raising five children after her husband passed away in 2018. For the past year she has been experiencing severe chest pain and shortness of breath, and was recently diagnosed with critical mitral valve stenosis at Aga Khan Hospital Karachi. The cardiologist has confirmed that without a valve replacement, she has six months or less to live. The surgery, including post-operative care and a three-week hospital stay, is estimated at PKR 850,000. Her eldest son works as a rickshaw driver, and the family lives in a two-room house in Orangi Town. They have exhausted every family resource and are now turning to the community for help.
