About this cause
Hira Baig, a 19-year-old from Lyari, Karachi, was cooking dinner when the gas stove exploded. She sustained third-degree burns on 35% of her body — both arms, her torso, and part of her face. She has already undergone one emergency surgery at Civil Hospital Karachi, but requires three more skin graft procedures over the next six months, followed by physiotherapy. Her father is a chowkidar earning PKR 18,000 a month. The four surgeries, dressings, and physiotherapy sessions total PKR 420,000. Without this treatment, she faces lifelong disability and disfigurement.
